END OF AN ERA

THE END OF THE OVERSEAS ROUTES UNIT

You may, or may not, have heard that this October sees the end of the Overseas Routes Unit of the AA as we have known it since Home and Overseas Routes were together at the City Office in the early sixties.

The Unit is now to be amalgamated with Home Routes at Bristol, under the title 'Routes Processing' and the remaining staff at Basingstoke will be redeployed or redundant.

As this is the 'end of an Era' we are arranging a farewell drinks and buffet evening in the lounge of the Railway Social Club, (behind Basingstoke station) at 7pm on Monday 1 October. We would like as many as possible Overseas Routes staff and colleagues, past and present, to attend and you are cordially invited.

If you can come please let myself, David Arnold, or Mick Phillips know so that we can cater accordingly.

We do hope you can make it to what may be the last chance to meet each other.

Yours sincerely

Roger Smith

Head of Overseas Routes
