Our thanks to Dieter and Doreen who organised
the meeting at the White Hart Inn.

Message from Dieter in September:
This is just to reconfirm, all has been arranged
for Saturday 19 September, 12:30pm
at the "White Hart", as always.
Looking forward to seeing you all,
best regards Dieter.

The group responded well, and we managed to get to Godstone Green more or less on time.
Despite the fact that we have all now reached the stage of ripe old age, and are well passed the three score years and ten watershed.

Comments:
Despite the odd senior moments, we in the Godstone Group continue to enjoy life. Recent activities of members of the Group include hiking through the North Downs. Some exotic dancing on a Hayling Island beach, in the style of the famous Isadora Duncan. Others were searching further afield, in the Black Forest, for vintage wines. And some went sightseeing in Nottinghamshire and Sherwood Forest, following in the foot steps
of the legendary Robin Hood.

From Dieter: Doreen and I enjoyed our get-together and our chatting individually as well as across the table as always.
It is lovely to hear the news from everyone, and do you know, we don't seem to change from one year to the next!
What is more, we once again had a beautiful day for our reunion, didn't we?

From Gerhard:
Maria and I both enjoyed the reunion outing to Godstone. Time just seems to fly by, it really doesn't seem like eight years ago when we celebrated the 50th anniversary of our September arrival in Godstone Green. How the time passed away reminded me of the "September" song by Chris Daughtry :

How the time passed away? All the trouble that we gave.
And all those days we spent out by the lake.
Has it all gone to waste?, all the promises we made.
One by one they vanish just the same. Of all the things I still remember, summer's never looked the same.
The years go by and time just seems to fly by,
but the memories remain....

End of the 2009 get-together.
